NEW YORK – (AP) Wall Street retreated Monday after Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fell to their lowest levels in nearly 20 years on concerns that the government might need to bail out the mortgage financiers. Weakness in the overall financial sector sent the Dow Jones industrial average down more than 175 points. Barron's said the U.S. Treasury might have to bail out government-chartered Fannie and Freddie, which, the weekly noted, would likely wipe out shareholders' equity in the companies. END
Yes indeed George Exxon Bush and Dick Halliburton Cheney have a plan. They're going to ride off into the sunset with your money, your children's money, and your grandchildren's money. When Cheney returns to the Halliburton Board of Directors, it is estimated that he'll receive over a $100 million in bonuses. Who says crime doesn't pay? But Christian Fundamentalists will give him a welcome fit for King David at the Republican Convention, and rightfully so, since he has played a major roll in murdering as many people as King David did. And the fact that almost 5,000 of them were young Americans only makes him that much more of a patriot in the dogma-deranged minds of right-wing warmongers.
Those of you who voted for Bush and then lost a loved one in Iraq, do not let that keep you from honoring your Christian Commander-In-Chief, for we both know your loss was God's will. Why not honor both your deceased loved one and your president and put their pictures side by side in a beautiful frame? Very soon your president, like your loved one, will be just a memory. God bless and have a nice convention.
