U.S. Gives Troops All the TLC They Can Handle

PHILADELPHIA – Veterans given incorrect radiation doses in a common surgical procedure to treat prostate cancer during a six-year period at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Philadelphia, according to newspaper reports Sunday.

A hospital team that performed the procedure botched it on 92 of 116 occasions and continued the treatment for a year even though monitoring equipment was broken, The New York Times said. The Philadelphia Inquirer said treatment errors occurred in 92 of 114 cases. END

When I was taking chemo and radiation treatments for cancer I drove right past the VA facility here in Florida to a private cancer treatment center. Had I gone to the VA , I would now be dead. I know that some of the guys are without the means to pay for medical care, but the vast majority are getting monthly benefits and could pay. There's an old saying, "You get what you pay for." Well, in this case it's not true. These guys have paid for the best. Right or wrong that put it all on the line for the damn bankers, but true to their nature, the bankers never fulfill their end of a contract. They cut every corner they can in honor of the bottom line.
