When I found this website late last year, I was overjoyed. I saw it as a place to post my writings where others could see them and comment. Since then, however, I have seen the site hijacked by people posting several times a day, which results in the burying of other people's writings.
I suppose it's too much to ask someone who wants to engage in constant political diatribes to find a political site, or someone who wants to spread their religion to find a religious site. But at least they could limit their postings to once or twice a week. Such a writer could still say everything they want by simply combining the postings into a weekly "Thoughts From Crazytown" posting. But I guess if you hail from Crazytown, you don't realize that most peple have no interest in your self-centered, nonsensical ramblings. It's really too bad, because people will eventually stop coming to this site either to post or to read.
As for commenting directly on their muck: I've been teaching 8th grade for 15 years and I've found that trying to engage such people in conversation only encourages them. They're like the kid in the back of the room who really just wants to hear himself talk and who delights in the attention. No facts will convince them, no plea will pierce their thick hide. You just have to wait until they get sick of not getting much reaction. Sadly, however, I think that by the time that happens this site will be dead.

You are very correct. I have been on this site for a day, and even now, I find it hard to come across any actual writting. It's just a bunch of people that think they're opinion is more valid than anyone else. I hate to name people, but Jailhouse author, while the majority of his posts make alot of sence, should realy find some sort of political forum to post his constant nattering instead of clogging up this site and burying anything worthy of being read, or even get a job as a journalists, if he has not already and if he has already, kee his political drivel for his job and write something worth while. Reading back, it sounds as if I am being too harsh, and he is not the only perpatraitor, although he seems to be the most proliphic.
