Let's look at the passage below, in the same context of what I wrote about in my last post. Also knowing that what is Antichrist denies Jesus as the Messiah, and that doctrines of works deny Christ because they attempt to crucify Him again, through saying that His sacrifice isn't enough, and are thereby antichristian.
Titus 1:10-16 NASB
10For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, ESPECIALLY those of the circumcision (legalism, and doctrines of works),
11who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain (taking advantage of people through ways I will show below).
12One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."
13This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith,
14not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men (liken to what Paul says about false humility in Colossians. And notice that it says 'commandments OF MEN,' just as Jesus also said that some men's traditions were making the word of God void for THEM, and notice that the Scripture in question in that passage was turned into something that had human authority, but not real spiritual authority, to show that even religious people who claimed to live by the word of God, and probably had 'works,' weren't really right with God.) who turn away from the truth.
15To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving (Notice it doesn't say 'those who don't have good works'), nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled (This searing of the conscience, which Peter also talks about, with it being as with a hot iron, comes through the judging and condemnation of legalism, and the commandments of men.)
16They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed (so it is actually those who preach a doctrine of works who are seared away from having any ACTUAL good work. And as with the first part of this verse, even though they claim to have works of God, their works which they do have are without Him).
One of the biggest ways to identify false humility, is to see if the 'professed' humility has to first be sown through condemnation, whether it be open condemnation, or something like graceful condemnation.
