Isaiah 45:19
I did not say to the seed of Jacob, ‘ Seek Me in vain’
This verse says so much. Firstly it directly shows that it was possible for salvation to come, without Jesus having to die, just as it was through the rejection of Him, that He was crucified. Secondly, this verse begins to address a topic that the church began to leave behind. Which is that Jesus came so that we may have an abundant life now, meaning that it is His will to give us His Promises; and beyond that, the types of gifts that we may receive now, ARE things that we can have eternally, and in the new heavens and earth.
One understanding of the seed of God, is that it still contains both good and evil, though it is also incorruptible. In this way, the seed of God that is in us, is as an entire situation. And this goes along with what I said regarding God striving with us, and us wrestling with Him, as it also goes along with God creating calamity, just as He creates peace, and that the tribulations and afflictions in our lives are the negative things that are around us, as God still works in us by faith, to complete what is impossible with man, but possible with God, and for the one who believes in Him. This nearly gives the definition for how creation was subjected to futility, and how God can create calamity, when the Bible does say that He is not the author of confusion. And the truth is, that God creates the situations in our lives, that still have negative and dark things in them, and that through Him we can overcome and receive His Promises.
Isaiah 45:7
'I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace and create calamity;
I, the LORD, do all these things.’
As we overcome, and even come away from being cold, in our relationship with the LORD, we also do have the Promises in which we can keep the spoil, as before entering into the Promised Land, as the Israelites did, after we are also cleansed by the water, as Titus speaks about, and this is beauty for ashes, and a promise for us, no matter what corruption is in our lives and the situations we are in.
