MILWAUKEE - After being laid off from her job as an events planner at an upscale resort, Jo Ann Bauer struggled financially.

She worked at several lower-paying jobs, relocated to a new city and even declared bankruptcy. Then in December, she finally accepted her parents' invitation to move into their home — at age 52. "I'm back living in the bedroom that I grew up in," she said.

"Honesty" is a byproduct of punishment for dishonesty. People like all other animals will take a yard if you give them an inch. Enablers are at the bottom of all repeat offenders. If a person found guilty of molesting a child was hung within ten days after their trial, allowing time for a three-judge panel to make sure the trial was conducted according to the law, it might not stop someone else from molesting a child, but it would stop that person from doing it again. And since 62% of these crimes are repeat offenders, we would see a 62% drop in these types of crimes. And that would hold true for all other crimes. This is simple math. It's not the crooks that are the problem, it's the enablers.
