Another U.S. Puppet Abandoned

There can be no doubt that Pervez Musharraf's nearly nine years in power are nearing a close. As the deeply unpopular president's opponents have steadily closed in, some of his key allies have abandoned his side. The powerful army he led for nine years shows no sign of intervening. And even the once guaranteed voice of support from Washington appears to have fallen silent, while the chorus calling for his exit continues to grow louder.

In the coming weeks, the CIA's newest puppet, Mikheil Saakashvili, just might find that his calls to Washington are not getting through. Then, of course, it's possible that the bad boys in Russia will assassinate, Saakashvili. One can only hope.

Democrats, I Just Don't Get It

As a Republican, I do not label all Democrats as looney, but over the last four years, I have noticed a collective leap by many Dems off the cliff into the eventual abyss of socialism.
I cannot stand by and watch our county devolve into a land where the word liberty carries no weight whatsoever. It is to that land that the Democrats are yanking the American people.

I begin this blog by apologizing to any Democrat who may take offense to anything I write. It is not your fault that you are misinformed. Well, actually it is, but I’ll get to that later.

Political Correctness, So Offensive

Why have politics and religion been relegated to be discussed only behind closed doors and only among those whom you know share your political beliefs? Do we really need to be patted on the back in that way? Is the foundation upon which our beliefs are built so paper-thin that we must apologize before bringing up an issue of public policy? That catch phrase contains the word “public” in case you hadn’t thought about it in a while.

There are a few things going on here.

1: It takes quite a bit to offend me.

2: If I am offended, I try to keep it to myself.
2a: If what offended me actually is offensive, I will ask questions of the offender as to clarify their position in an attempt to understand their point of view.

Democrats…Learned Anything in the Last 8 Years?

Mentioning John McCain and war hero in the same sentence is an oxymoron. Since I was shot down twice in Vietnam, I did at one time respect McCain until I started checking with those who spent time with him in North Vietnam and heard esteemed author Gore Vidal allude to it. His nickname was "Songbird". McCain didn't volunteer to be a POW and he didn't begin to comply with Article III of the United States Code of Conduct after being captured. What he did do was sing like a songbird and whine day and night about being abandoned. This old guy is not bitter at the North Vietnamese, he's mad as hell at Americans for leaving him in the POW camp for five years while they listened to psychedelic music, wore flowers in their hair, and partied.

The Assassination of George W. Bush

If words could kill, there wouldn't be a million dead, 4,000 of them young Americans. There wouldn't have been an Abu Ghraib disgrace, and OPEC wouldn't be talking about going to a money basket system. There would be more MBAs than KIAs, and the American Dream would still be alive and well.

Ohio Delight

A crowd of three would like to thank those in Ohio that evolution took out of a tree. Obama had the Washington crowd on the ropes; but thanks to some uneducated blue collar dopes, Bush, McCain, and Hillary are again in the thick of things.

You lose some two hundred thousand paychecks, but make your way through ice thick and thin to embrace NAFTA again.

Do you ever think of the dead? George W. Bush would have sunk like lead, had it not been for the lead in your head. Think about it. They were just kids on their way to school before you stepped in and sent them to Mosul.

Don't worry about me. I'm retired and the title to my car, home, and boat are with me, not Lending Tree.
