6:50pm – It has gotten late. Ren was never one for punctuality, but even he wasn’t usually more than half an hour late. I had already begun without him; the drawers were piling up on the floor almost as quickly as they had been emptied. The smell of ice cream and chocolate was still in the air from the afternoon.
What if he and Mitch got into another fight? Why can’t they just get along? I know Mitch is the jealous type, but Ren isn’t into me…and I’m not into him. I’m not. He’s like my brother. I could never…

The end of the beginning and the beginning of the end
I have decided to post some writings, of what I think will be a story, here on this blog, right now, because at first the computer I was using was totally lagging, and I couldn't gracefully read any posts on the forum site, to also give enough critiques, plus I want to post these right now, at this time and juncture. There are some tid bits, of short story ideas that I have posted on the forum site, and I hope to intermingle these all together, and at least come up with a pretty good gestalt of a book I can publish and really feel good about. So here are my two tid bits that I am posting right now:

POLICE RESPONSE TO THE MENTALLY ILL
POLICE RESPONSE TO THE MENTALLY ILL
Jim Heitmeyer
27 November 2007
More than One-quarter of all Americans met the criteria for having a mental illness problem within the past year, and fully over a quarter of those had a "serious" disorder that significantly disrupted their ability to function day to day, according to the largest and most detailed survey of the nation's mental health, published in 2007. Mental illness is a growing problem throughout the world.
Numerous law enforcement agencies are often called to check out a report on somebody with a possible psychosis or other symptoms of mental behavior.

The Great Egyptian Pyramids
The Egyptian Pyramids
22 November 2007
The Egyptian Pyramids have always fascinated me. For one big reason is the question that has boggled many archeologists, anthropologists and scientists as well as myself. How did these people build these huge pyramids with over three hundred giant blocks of stones weighing nearly three tons apiece? It has been said that there are enough blocks in 5 pyramids to build a wall 7 meters high and 1 meter thick around the county of Iran.

Flagstaff Arizona by Jim Heitmeyer
19 November 2007
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA
FOUNDED 1876 –
Why did people come to Flagstaff years ago? They came because water was available for people, crops, and animals. They came to the San Francisco Peaks for religious reasons. They came for the lumber to build their villages. They came to enjoy the beauty of the Peaks.
One thousand years ago the Pueblo people built elaborate cities like Wupatki. The people worked in the fields, growing corn, squash, beans, and cotton. They probably loved to listen to the traders who came to their village from the south and brought wonderful seashells. The children played with clay figurines, miniature people, dogs, and houses.

Jail Sight Checks
JAIL SIGHT CHECKS
20 November 2007
Most jail facilities perform prisoner sight checks by visual, verbal or video monitors. The most affective way to perform a sight check is by visual, physical and verbal verification. Some jail standards require that sight checks be performed every hour. In one hour, a lot can happen. In my career on some occasions, sight checks were performed by ghost officers and documented for record as being performed. The jailer or detention officer figures everything is quiet and peaceful, so documents the roster as making a check. Officers that attempt to ghost check and falsely document records should be dismissed or severely reprimanded by their superiors.

Paradise Valley Arizona - Days of old
Paradise Valley, Arizona was truly a Paradise during the 1950s and 60s.
Paradise Valley, Arizona, USA. November 11, 2007 -- This will always be Paradise Valley to me
This is my personal story about Paradise Valley, Arizona. This is a land of rare Sonoran beauty with open desert and wildlife. We weren’t plagued with the big city rules, codes and guidelines back then. We were just a community of good folks trying to make a life in the valley.

The Staring Contest
They laid flat on their bellies, chins on the floor with less than two feet between their faces
'What are those dark flecks on your irises?' he asked 'And are your eyes green or brown? I've always thought they were brown but now they seem green with a very dark green ring around the outside.'
'That's just your murky soul reflecting' she chided in mock annoyance and then smiled.
'As for the flecks, I dunno--someone once told me that each section of the iris corresponds to a part of your body and where the flecks are is where you are ill or potentially ill.'
'Well?'
'Well what?'
'Well where are you ill? What are we talking about here for pete's sake?'
